PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
Free, Unlimited, and Already on Their Lock Screen
No app to build, no provider to connect, no charge per message. Your business name lands where people actually look — and it works from the moment your first card is installed.
Watch One Land, Then Walk Someone Past
Press send and it appears on a locked phone. Then move a cardholder toward your door and see what fires on its own.
Nothing sent yet. Every push below costs the same: nothing.
Locked screen. Nothing here yet.
No app installed. These arrive because the card lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The Cheapest Channel You Will Ever Have
Every wallet card can receive notifications. No app to build, no list to buy, no per-message charge — and your business name is what appears on the screen.
You write a short message
A line or two, aimed at a segment rather than everyone. Lapsing regulars, birthdays this week, people who live near your quietest branch.
It goes out instantly
No sending queue, no delivery charge, no provider to connect first. Push works from the moment your first card is installed.
It lands on the lock screen
Your name, your message, no app required. That is the whole advantage — you are reaching people in the place they actually look.
The visit shows up in your numbers
Give each campaign its own link and the dashboard tells you which message brought people in, not just which one was sent.
Push, SMS, or Email?
Push wins on cost and immediacy and loses on one thing that matters. Here is the whole picture.
Not All Pushes Are Campaigns
Most of these send themselves. Only one of them is you sitting down to write something.
Transactional
Automatic, after every scan
“That is stamp 7 of 10.” Sent the moment your team scans the card. It is the smallest message you send and the one that keeps you in someone’s head.
Campaign
Written by you, sent to a segment
The one you actually compose. Aimed at a group rather than your whole list, which is the difference between a campaign and being muted.
Geo-push
Fires when they come within 100 m
A message that waits at a location and appears when a cardholder walks past. Pin your own shop, or somewhere your customers already go.
Auto-push
Business plan
Three built-in triggers you set once and leave running: a feedback request a set number of hours after a stamp, a next-visit reminder a set number of days after their last one, and birthday wishes a set number of days ahead.
Birthday
Automatic, once a year
Points or stamps land on their card and the push tells them it happened. A gift that costs you nothing until they walk in to use it.
Card update
Whenever you change the card
Change a reward or a design and every installed card refreshes itself. No reinstall, no reissue, nothing for the customer to do.
Will It Actually Reach Them?
Sending is free and instant. Whether a message is displayed depends on the phone it lands on, and every platform behaves differently.
What Nobody Tells You About Geo-Push
Location-based push is the most impressive feature here and the most misunderstood. These six things decide whether it works for you at all.
Apple Wallet only
Google Wallet does not support geofenced notifications yet, so Android users will not receive them. Every other push type works on both. Check your market before you build a plan around this one.
The radius is fixed
Roughly 100 metres, set by the system and not adjustable. Pin your location accordingly — a spot fifty metres down the street reaches a different set of passers-by.
Pin anywhere, not just your shop
The location does not have to be your address. A gym across the road, a station your customers pass, a rival’s street — any point on the map can carry a message.
You cannot cap how often it fires
It sends every time someone enters the area, even several times a day. Word the message so it still reads well on the fourth pass, because someone who works nearby will see it that often.
Ten pins per account
Start includes one, Grow three, Business ten. Extra pins can be bought on Business for a small monthly fee. Apple caps any single card at ten.
Editing text is instant, moving a pin is not
Change the wording and installed cards update almost immediately. Move or delete the location and it only takes effect after that card next updates — which happens on a transaction or the next push.
Five Mistakes That Get You Muted
A deleted card cannot be won back with a better offer. These are the fastest routes to one.
Sending because it is free
Unlimited tempts people into weekly messages with nothing in them. Every empty push makes the next one easier to ignore, and the card eventually gets deleted. Send less than you are allowed to — that is the whole discipline.
Expecting a reply
Push is one-way. If your message asks a question, ends with “let us know”, or invites anyone to respond, you have set up a conversation nobody can join. Put questions in email or SMS instead.
A geo-push that repeats badly
It fires every time someone enters the radius and cannot be limited. “Come in for 20% off today” is fine once and irritating on the fifth pass. Write something that survives repetition, or move the pin somewhere people do not pass daily.
Promising geo-push to an Android market
If most of your customers are on Android, location push will reach almost none of them — and Google caps ordinary pushes at three shown per card per day on top of that. Say so plainly to anyone you are selling this to, and lead with the free unlimited push instead.
Testing with a card preview and assuming it is broken
Preview passes exist to check your design and never receive pushes. Install a real card on a real phone before you decide anything is wrong. The other common false alarm is a card marked “Deleted” because Automatic Updates got switched off — it is still in the wallet, but it has stopped listening.
Your First Campaign Costs Nothing
Push notifications are free and unlimited on every plan, with no provider to connect and no per-message charge. Install one card and you can send to it today — the trial costs nothing and needs no card.
